Honestly, the beach can be quite difficult to swim, or even dangerous, if you do not check the wind direction before going.

Now, let me inform you that Myrtos is not just another picturesque location in Kefalonia, but a place that exudes a spiritual essence.

This white pebble beach makes you feel peaceful and tranquil.

This beach has a unique energy that has been felt by many visitors throughout the years.

It’s a place where one can connect with nature, with oneself, and with the divine.

It’s a place where you can let go of all your worries and just be present in the moment.

The beauty of Myrtos Beach is awe-inspiring, with the surrounding cliffs and green hillsides adding to the ethereal ambiance.

Myrtos Beach is a reminder that sometimes the simplest things in life are the most profound, and that by immersing ourselves in nature, we can find a sense of calm and spiritual rejuvenation.

Why Myrtos is so unique?

– Myrtos Beach is known for its stunning scenery

– with the turquoise waters contrasting against the white pebble beach and towering cliffs

– the beach is surrounded by lush green hillsides, making for a truly unforgettable view

Myrtos Beach has won numerous awards, including being named one of the best beaches in Europe and the world by several travel publications.

What to do in Myrtos:

1) Relax on the stunning white pebble beach:

Take a swim in the crystal-clear turquoise waters, and soak up the sun.

You can also rent a sunbed and umbrella for a small fee (like 15 euros per set).

Additionally, there are several cafes and restaurants, on the way to the beach where you can grab a bite to eat or a refreshing drink and bring it to the beach.

Get yourself a lot of sun cream to avoid any issues with the very intense sun at this beach. Mainly because of the white pebble the sun is dispersed even if you are under an umbrella.

2) Take a boat tour:

Several boat tours depart from Myrtos Beach, taking visitors to explore the nearby caves and secluded coves.

It’s a great way to see the beauty of the island from a different perspective.

3) Tandem Paragliding Flight over Myrtos:

As you soar through the air, you’ll have an incredible bird’s-eye view of Myrtos Beach, the surrounding hills, and the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.

The feeling of weightlessness and the rush of wind against your face creates an adrenaline-pumping experience that you’ll never forget.

The flight typically lasts around 20 minutes, depending on weather conditions.

4) Capture the natural beauty of Myrtos

Myrtos Beach is a popular location for photography enthusiasts, offering a stunning backdrop for photos.

Take the chance to take some stunning photos on the left-hand side where there’s a small cave.

Also, the right-hand side is suitable for photos, as the beach becomes sandier and easier to walk.

Some tips from a local:

Many people state the road to get to the beach is terrifying. I quite agree with this, but being a local and have raised on the island I find it normal.

Now, there’s a canteen at the beach not fancy but you can have a snack or coffee. Also, there are sun beds for 10-15 euros/pair + umbrella.

I’d recommend getting a sunbed because the pebbles are stiff if you lay on your beach towel.

Please IMPORTANT buy a wasp stick in case you encounter some of them. Due to covid break, they found a free room and multiplied.

Parking is tough in Myrtos, IMPORTANT I would advise you to go early morning to secure a convenient spot close to the beach.

Believe me, it is worth going there early and securing a spot.

About the wind now, IMPORTANT advise the weather forecast before visiting Myrtos.

The wind might be strong and swimming might be impossible if not dangerous.
